We are excited to add two new offerings for this year's conference:
1. Tour of the Seattle Art Museum
Join Seattle Art Museum (SAM) staff for a guided tour of the museum’s downtown campus. Explore highlights from SAM’s global collection while learning about the museum’s approach to interpretation. Hear from SAM’s Interpretation Team about how the museum uses digital tools, interactive experiences, and storytelling to deepen engagement in the galleries and invite new ways of looking.
Then attendees can try out and give feedback to a test interpretive project in the museum’s special exhibition “American Art: The Stories We Carry,” offering a firsthand look at possible new approaches to visitor engagement.

Cost: $15.00 per person
To reserve your spot: Select the option during registration and your preferred time.
Waitlist: We expect this tour to fill up, so a waitlist will likely form. If you secure a spot and your plans change, please let us know right away so we can offer it to the next person in line.
Please note: SAM has some ongoing construction, so not all galleries/spaces will be open.
2. Free Admission to SAM and SAAM: All MCN attendees have free access to SAM and the Seattle Asian Art Museum with their MCN badge from Wednesday, October 21st through Sunday, October 25th.
The conference takes place over two days and begins with Ignite on the evening of October 21. For the most up-to-date information about the conference, check out mcn.edu.
Hotel InformationMCN 2026 will be held at the Hyatt Regency Seattle. A limited block of discounted rooms is available between October 20–24 and is expected to sell out before the cut-off date —early booking is encouraged.

Airline Travel Discounts As a benefit of attending MCN 2026, special discount codes have been arranged with United Airlines, Delta, and Alaska Airlines. MCN is unable to guarantee any airline pricing or any travel-related issues.

You have until September 9 (six weeks before the conference) to cancel your MCN 2026 registration and receive a full refund, minus a $75 processing fee. Cancellations between September 10 and October 7 will receive a 50% refund, minus a $75 processing fee. Tickets after October 7 are non-refundable and may be applied to a future conference. You can transfer registration to another individual with a $75 processing fee any time before October 7.

Reduced-price admission for nonprofit institutions with annual operating budgets of less than $10M or for-profit organizations with fewer than 5 employees

MCN envisions a world in which all museums are empowered digitally to achieve their missions. As a membership organization, MCN is dedicated to growing the digital capacity of museum professionals by connecting them to ideas, information, opportunities, proven practices, and each other.
The BIPOC Speakers Fund is one small step in increasing the engagement of BIPOC people at MCN 2026. Providing a platform for a diverse range of speakers will make for a better conference for everyone. The fund will be equally distributed among self-identified, self-nominated BIPOC conference speakers. Thank you for your support.
